Rocktoberfest

Every year, Jason takes his Jeep and goes to Rocktoberfest for a few days. This year he wanted us to join him on the trails for a day - I don't even like going over the curb so you can imagine my feelings toward joining him. Then it rained and the campsite he stays at flooded so he came home early (thankfully he did come home, some people stayed and had to be rescued). I thought that would mean I would get out of the trail ride. No such luck. He wanted to go back and we went with him. Remember what I said about the curbs - I took these pictures while we were parked in the middle of this creek:

There were a few times that I wanted to get out of the Jeep but I kept a smile on my face and we had a great day together.

Peyton - Student of the Week 3/2-3/6

Peyton was Student of the Week the first week of March. That morning when I was taking a shower I see little Peyton standing outside the shower door so I peek out and try to focus without glasses or contacts to find out what she needs. She says "I'm going to be recognized for Student of the Week at Rise and Shine". I was so glad I was in the shower getting ready and I only had to call one person to let them know I was going to be late to meet them. Can you find Peyton in the sea of faces?

On Fridays, the Student of the Week gets to bring something special to share with the class. Another student this year brought kittens so of course Peyton wanted to take Eddie. Peyton introduced Eddie to the class and he was very well behaved. Very interested in the Kindergarten class that was at recess but was a good dog!

Christmas 2008

Christmas Eve the girls each opened one gift. I think they've caught on to the fact it's always going to be pajamas!
Here they are with Eddie. He loves Christmas - probably because he always gets to open gifts too. So the other 364 days of the year, we can't put gift bags where he can get to them, he thinks they are his.
The girls woke us up Christmas morning about 6am. They had been up since about 5 and Mackenzie had already done her treatment - Peyton helped get her nebulizers ready. That warmed my heart on Christmas morning! The girls really didn't want too much for Christmas this year, here they are in the aftermath of opening gifts.

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! Now, I'm off to try to put the rest of this 1000 piece puzzle together before next Christmas.

We Found Eddie a Woman (Or a Sister)

We love watching CBS News Sunday Morning and today's rerun gave us another chance to see Tillie - a Jack Russell Terrier Artist (her art is shown behind her) - and I think she'd be perfect for Eddie! What do you think? (Tillamook "Tillie" Cheddar on the left, our Eddie on the right).

Peyton, Kendall, & Eddie

Peyton's friend Kendall spent the night last night and I have never seen anyone so in love with our dog - she may love him even more than us. If her parents don't get her a dog soon I may just have to drop one off at their door. This is one girl that I see taking the responsibility of owning a pet very seriously! (Andy and Traci, if a dog actually shows up on your front door, I was just kidding so it's not from us!!).

I'm Flippin'!

I'm SO excited about my new toy! It's a Flip Video Camcorder thingy...SO much fun. Very easy to use for quick recording. It won't replace my camcorder (it only holds 60 minutes of video and doesn't zoom in very far) BUT it will replace my cell phone or Peyton's camera which I found myself using to get short videos a lot (plus so much more room) and it will take better videos than my cell phone. Also, it has a USB arm that connects the recorder directly to the computer for easier uploads, etc.! All of you moms with toddlers and babies have to get one!

This is a video of Eddie as soon as I opened the box (the girls weren't home)...I took it out popped in the batteries, and started recording:

This video is of the girls as soon as we pulled into the driveway after I picked them up...I kind of put them on the spot...I can't help it, I love things like this and I was excited...

Eddie

We always give Eddie Christmas gifts in gift bags with treats at the bottom so he'll "open" them. I caught him trying to sneak a peak in the bags under the tree.
