Holly Ball Dancin'
I forgot when I posted pictures from the Holly Ball yesterday that I also have video!
If you have any interest at all to watch these 6th graders do the Bunny Hop, I'd watch now...I have a feeling a certain eleven year old may request I take them down, but then again that girl is always surprising me so maybe she won't.

Isn't She Lovely
They all were lovely! To finish up Junior Cotillion for the year, Mackenzie went to the Holly Ball on Saturday night and Jason and I got to go watch (and participate a bit). I also got a call last Monday that Mackenzie was selected to be on the Holly Ball Court (the kids had voted the Saturday before). I was so surprised because to me Mackenzie seems so quiet and reserved but who knows how she is around her peers. I had to keep it a secret from her all week until we went to practice Friday night. Here she is with Emily and Madison:

Side note - I am not one to skip right over Thanksgiving and start in on Christmas before we've had a chance to be thankful but the Holly Ball pictures did make me want to change up the blog background.

Willy Walton's Chocolate Factory
Mackenzie went to particulate in Willy Walton's Chocolate Factory again this year (two Saturdays ago - I'm so far behind in posting!). It was a much smaller group overall this year and they actually got to create their product with cookie dough, icing, and sprinkles. From the website: The program, designed to teach students the fundamentals of the global economy, marketing concepts, budgeting, and transportation and logistics.
Here is a link to last year's WWCF. Which was actually in February now that I look at it.

Road Trip to OKC
Peyton went to OKC with Kendall and Traci last weekend to go to a Dance Masters Convention with some of their fellow dancers and Mrs. Beth. They had such a great time and learned a lot! It was the first time that Peyton went that far away for a weekend without me and I sure did miss her but I am so thankful that she was with Traci who always takes such good care of her.

We Wish You...
A merry Christmas! I'm not a fan of Christmas music pre-Thanksgiving. I was shocked when I was in Walmart the day after Halloween and they were already playing holiday music. BUT, I will admit, I did get into the holiday spirit with the Christmas music when Mackenzie and her school choir sang at Candy Cane Lane!

Halloween 2008
We had a very nice Halloween. It was great that it fell on a Friday night and the weather could not have been better!
Right after school the girls got ready as fast as they could and they started the candy quest at Jason's office. We stopped to Trick or Treat at the Watkins (the girls were their very first trick or treaters EVER!). Here they all with the Bee-utiful Bella:
We ended up trick or treating on Central which was so nice with all of the older homes and a lot of people that really got into the fun of Halloween.
Fairy pose:
Peyton was a "Copper Fairy" and Mackenzie was a...hmmm...I guess we'll go with Zombie (she just wore the costume from her dance recital). This is one of the ways my girls are very different. Peyton will go ALL OUT when it comes to costumes or dressing up. She loves the hair (wigs of course if necessary), make-up, all required articles of clothing. Mackenzie on the other hand, not so much. She didn't want to wear the cute (award winning!) Velma costume - maybe because of the wig? She did put on a little make-up and let me tease her hair (although it doesn't matter how much hairspray we use, it usually falls out within about 30 minutes). I am not complaining! I'm just glad she decided to go trick or treating!
